Game Over Yeah!

I laughed so hard at that part becuase it seemed the game was excited that he lost. Great animation, the style reminds me a lot of Calvin and Hobbes. Manly the shoes and the overall style of the heads. Seems like this could have been pulled right out of a newspaper and I like that kind of feel. The only thing that need a bit of work is the fire. A gradient is okay for a short cartoon, but more for a more complex animation it will need some more solid color. Fire is one hard thing to animate, but when you get it right it makes the whole animation better. Good job man and keep animating!

Thank you for the feedback.

Unforgetable

This is amazing and heartwarming. I loved everything about it and I hope to see more from you. The animation really is cute and well developed. You can defiantly use Flashes effects better then I hope to right now. For your next project try to loosen up your characters like you did the spider in the beginning. Mainly what I mean by that is when Digory runs his arms stay completely still. Also I was hoping for to do a little skip at some point but that is just me. Great job and keep animating!

WhiteLightning responds:

Yeah, the style makes it hard for the animation to be to loose, though the one I'm working on now is pretty opposite, the characters are kinda rubbery :)

Amazing

I really loved it. Nice Idea and wonderfully made. Short and sweet. Something I would like to do in the future. Keep animating man, cuz I love your work.

Also look for my animation, it be a few under yours. Sigh I stand in your shadow. Might get FP man GL.

Squidems responds:

Hey, thanks a lot man. I actually watched yours already (and 5/5'd it), animating to music is hard work...

Good

Well really great, but after reading a great book on animating (The Animator's Survival Kit), this could have been a lot better. Movements were basic and always fallowed a cycle. The best animation I saw was in the background when the bat was trying to sing to the little water dragon, which was behind the Hawaiian Puppy when he was complaining about the bat's horrible singing. Things I saw that could have been improved where as follows:

a. When the HPs (Hawaiian Puppies) are dancing behind the two headed bat, it was just a cycle of countless puppies doing the same dance. It would have been more interesting to have them 3-4 Dance across the screen in the same amount of time as the infinite puppies but give each their own dance across or at least a dance more elaborate then moving their arms up and down.

b. I feel the running of the little water dragon was stiff and needed to be more flexible. I would have also suggested a more skip-like run, to make her seem more young and adorable.

c. I would also comment on the jump she performs at the end of the run and spin, which felt as if she floated into the air and then fell.

d. I felt the drummers could have been a little more diverse such as maybe a smaller one pounding on the drum with a big drumstick, would have been funny to see him struggle with the weight and add diversity to the drummers.

Overall this was a good animation that, with a little more effort can become great. This is much better than anything I have done yet, but I hope that I can learn and work with you in the future. Also would like to congratulate you on the great backgrounds. Anyways keep animating cuz you got the talent for it. Thanks for reading and I hope you have a great day.

HawaiianPuppies responds:

Ah yeah, I've actually read that book before. I remember when it was first published I was 12 and spent all my savings on it XD.

I would agree that the best part of the short, in terms of animation, was the scene where MattLin was dancing in the background as the puppy complained in the foreground. And pretty much all your suggestions to the animation would enhance it and give the piece even more charm.

We were originally trying to have this finished in time to enter it into a Nickelodeon Film Festival / Competition, so some parts may have been rushed from the storyboard process onward, but I appreciate your input.

very nice

a good practice, but even those should be cleaned up. Just zoom in and edit all unwanted lines, I am sure someone as smart as you can figure it out. I like where you are heading to with your style and I hope to see some animations from you soon. Keep animating!

Goatskape responds:

Thanks. Once I am able to animate more fluidly, I am looking to begin two series. One comedy and one action/adventure.
